Hello everyone, 
I hope you've enjoyed August, even if it has been a bit too hot for some. As I write this I'm looking forward to our Spa Valley railway trip at the end of the month and then its full steam ahead for Christmas.
Since the last newsletter we have been entertained at memory cafes by some pretty amazing people, including the Cardinals Ukulele band who let a very enjoyable singalong at the Tonbridge cafe. I'm extremely grateful to every one who comes to entertain and, it goes without saying, all the amazing volunteers who turn up faithfully to engage with our service users, make tea and help with the general preparation and clearing up. Thank you all so very much.
Delivering awareness sessions is one part of what I do and a part which I enjoy. During August I delivered a 2 hour session for Tonbridge U3A which had around 40 people attending.
We only fear what we don't understand, a wise person once said, so  every person who attends one of these sessions is one more person who has a greater understanding of the condition, and one more person likely to be helpful and kind.
 

One of our cafe attendees asked me what I had planned for the next cafe, which made me think that it would be good to post here what's coming to  the Angel Bowls Cafe.

August 22nd - Marianne Zoumplou from the Saatchi gallery who will share some pictures from their latest show and a collage workshop for those who want to have a go.
September 12th - Di and John Cullen returning with their great music.
September 26th - Gary Poleykett who entertained us before with his balloon animals and tales of being a children's entertainer, will bring some craft skills to share with us.

At our meeting on September 6th we shall welcome Tracey Burn, Social Care Involvement Officer from Kent County Council.

We're going to the pantomime! Oh yes we are!


I have purchased 30 tickets for the Snow White at the E M Forster theatre at Tonbridge School on Saturday December 28th at 3pm. Very much first come first served as some of the performances are already sold out. 
I will start to compile the lists once we have returned from train trip at the end of the month.
