Coronavirus Pandemic

We are a Kent charity that provides accommodation for over 450 older people along with care for complex conditions including dementia and end of life care - seehttps://rapporthousingandcare.co.uk/. The volatility of the Coronavirus Pandemic, along with the shortage of workers because of the need to self-isolate, is making life extremely difficult.

Every day, 24/7, our staff are: -

  1. Continuously smiling whilst keeping the residents positive mindful that they are older people who mostly have underlying health conditions and are therefore in the most vulnerable group at this time

  2. Constantly updating their families because they are unable to visit plus striving to keep them positive because they are aware of the devastating consequences if mum or dad contracted this virus

  3. Trying to encourage residents living with dementia and are often confused to regularly wash their hands plus self-isolate when appropriate

  4. Working up to 16 hours a day and returning home to families physically and mentally exhausted

  5. Maintaining our very vulnerable residents wellbeing and preventing them from needing to be admitted into hospital which would place further pressure on our NHS colleagues

  6. Making additional beds available to accept more patients from hospitals as they become increasingly overwhelmed

We urgently need more staff – please would you kindly consider posting the attached poster onto your social media site(s) along with any other sites/locations. We would also be enormously grateful if you would share this poster with anyone or organisation you feel would display it.

Any support or encouragement you could provide would be greatly appreciated by our very vulnerable residents, their families and our staff.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you feel you can help. With my very best regards,
