FEEDBACK FROM DEMENTIA FRIENDLY COMMUNITIES COMMITTEES
We welcomed new members to the Tonbridge group- John Mackenzie from Warners Solicitors and Fiona Arnold from Tonbridge Cottage Hospital. Plans were discussed for the fundraising St George's day 'Last Night of the Proms' Concert with the Tunbridge Wells Orpheus Male Voice Choir and Tonbridge Community Singers. Plans for Dementia Action Week include information stands in Tonbridge town centre on Saturday May 13th. The possibility of a garden party at Tonbridge Cottage Hospital on Sunday 21st (To be confirmed) and the Dementia Showcase and awards event at Detling on the 19th. It is hoped that local traders will make an effort to display forget me nots or turn their windows blue for dementia. Volunteers are needed to man the display stands and help with ticket sales and raffle at the concert. The Tunbridge Wells Committee welcomed new member Daniel Huckfield from The Amelia. Plans for Dementia Action Week include an information stand in Victoria Place Tunbridge Wells on Saturday May 20th, the virtual dementia tour bus and a public awareness session. Tunbridge Wells group will also be involved with the fundraising concert in April.
